K-9 Division

The Elbert County Sheriff's Office has two multi-trained K-9's whom provide a very valuable service to the office. Multi-trained means that the dogs are trained in multi-task work such as narcotic detection, tracking, and attack and protection. Both dogs are Belgium Malinois. They were born in Belgium where they are trained in bite work and then brought to the U.S. where they were further trained in narcotic detection and tracking in Inman, South Carolina. Like deputies, both dogs are constantly receiving training and re certification in their abilities.  k-9 patch
